How much does a boiler service cost in Ireland?
Our source price book doesn't publish one fixed figure for an annual boiler service — it's usually a fixed service fee that varies by engineer and boiler type. A genuine repair call-out instead runs on the combined plumbing/heating labour band: €60–€100 an hour (up to €110 in Dublin) plus a €60–€90 call-out fee.
Ask upfront whether you're being quoted a fixed service fee (routine, preventative, usually annual) or a time-and-materials repair rate — they're priced differently and shouldn't be confused.
Boiler make, age and whether it's a combi or a cylinder-based system all affect how long a service or repair takes, and therefore the final cost.
Both a service and a repair on a gas boiler must be carried out by a current RGI (Registered Gas Installer) — see our RGI guide for what that covers.
What affects the price
- Fixed annual service fee vs an hourly repair call-out
- Boiler make and age
- Parts availability for older or less common models
- Combi boiler vs a cylinder-based heating system
When to call a pro
Book an annual service before anything goes wrong, and always use an RGI-registered engineer.
