The HomeSorted Standard · v1.0

How we check every trade

We check identity and the evidence required for the services shown; status and check date appear on the profile.

Every badge maps to a check

What each public badge means, what evidence it takes, and when this check was last reviewed.

ID-verified

Government-issued photo ID, matched against the person behind the profile.

Evidence:
A valid photo ID document, checked before the trade can message a homeowner.
Review:
Checked once, before the profile goes live. Re-checked if the account's registered identity details change.
Check last reviewed:
2026-10-01

Insured

Current public liability insurance held by the trade.

Evidence:
A valid certificate of insurance, with an in-date expiry.
Review:
Checked before the trade goes live, and tracked against the certificate's own expiry date. If it lapses, the trade is paused until a valid certificate is back on file.
Check last reviewed:
2026-10-01

Proof of Work

Completed jobs, confirmed by the homeowner who hired the trade — not a star rating anyone can post.

Evidence:
At least 2 completed jobs, each confirmed by the homeowner who hired them, before the badge is fully active.
Review:
Updated every time a homeowner confirms a completed job.
Check last reviewed:

The HomeSorted Standard

Version 1.0 · effective 2026-10-01. What we check, the evidence we ask for, and what each check does and doesn't tell you.

Every trade on HomeSorted provides a government-issued photo ID before they can go live. We check it against the person behind the profile — not a Facebook or LinkedIn check, an actual ID check.

A confirmed Irish business or residential address is checked alongside it, so HomeSorted knows where a trade actually operates from.

Reviews Can Be Faked. We Check Identity First.

Unlike platforms that rely only on star ratings, HomeSorted checks identity, insurance and — where the law requires it — a trade's category registration, before they appear in the directory.

Trust questions, answered

The things homeowners ask before they let someone into their home.

They can't take a job. Valid public liability insurance is one of the checks every trade must clear before they can accept work through HomeSorted — if it's not valid, they're not eligible.
