How much does a plumber cost in Dublin?

A plumber in Dublin typically charges €60–€110 an hour plus a separate €60–€90 call-out fee, with a straightforward radiator supply and fit running €200–€400. Those rates cover routine repairs and call-outs — a full bathroom or kitchen re-pipe is priced on the job, not the hourly rate alone.

The call-out fee and the hourly rate are usually two separate lines on the invoice, not one bundled figure — ask for both up front so you're not surprised on the day.

Dublin sits at the top of the national range (up to €110/hr) rather than a separate premium on top of it, unlike some other trades on this site where Dublin pricing is quoted as a percentage uplift.

A job quoted as a fixed price (a radiator supply-and-fit, for example) is a safer comparison between plumbers than two different hourly estimates, because it already accounts for how long that plumber expects the job to take.

What affects the price

  • Whether it's a routine booking or an urgent/out-of-hours call-out
  • Parts needed and whether the plumber supplies them or you do
  • Access — an easy-to-reach stopcock or cylinder costs less time than one behind panelling
  • VAT: supply-and-fit jobs are normally 13.5%, unless materials cost more than two-thirds of the total price

When to call a pro

Always for anything involving the mains stopcock, a gas-adjacent appliance, or work you can't safely isolate yourself — see our gas safety guide if gas is involved at all.
